12 potential winners

11/12/2016, The shortlist for the Prix Pictet has been announced! The theme for the seventh edition of the renowned photo prize is “space”.

No less than four German photographers, Thomas Ruff, Beate Guetschow, Michael Wolf and Saskia Groneberg are in the running for the coveted prize. The other finalists are Mandy Barker, Rinko Kawauchi, Benny Lam, Richard Mosse, Wasif Munem, Sohei Nishino, Sergey Ponomarev and Pavel Wolberg.

Sebastião Salgado will be a member of this year’s jury. Alongside seven other experts, he will decide on the winner of the 100,000 Swiss francs in prize money. Former winners were: Benoît Aquin (Water), Nadav Kander (Earth), Mitch Epstein (Growth), Luc Delahaye (Power), Michael Schmidt (Consumption) and Valérie Belin (Disorder).
