10/03/2017, In Heidelberg and nearby cities, more than 70 photo exhibitions are on view until 5 November, 2017. The trade mark of the uncurated festival is the awesome diversity of photographic styles and the variety of places. Besides traditional galleries the shows take place for instance in a baroque castle, a former indoor swimming pool, a designer hotel, churches, a vacant department store and a vegetable field. The former house of Hasselblad-Awardee Robert Häusser will be accessible for an exhibition of Peter Schlör.
OFF//FOTO 2017 takes place in addition to the Biennial for Contemporary Photography, curated by Florian Ebner, chief of Photography at Centre Pompidou. In cooperation both festivals offer several workshops, especially old photographic techniques as Ambrotype, Cyanotype and Wet Plate Collodion Process. The program also encompasses portraiture, architectural photography, direct marketing for artists and copy right in social media and street photography.
