TERRES DES ÎLES

02/11/2018, Corsica, Sicily, Iceland, Okinawa, Madagascar, Galapagos, Greenland and the Faroe Islands: not only the islands themselves, but also the lives of their inhabitants could hardly be more diverse. And yet, there are some profound similarities that connect them all. The group exhibition Terres des îles, currently displayed at the Polka Gallery in Paris until 3 March 2018, comprises the works of numerous photographers who have explored the origins and different identities of islands across the world.

Among the represented artists are acclaimed photographers such as Sebastião Salgado, Jacob Aue Sobol, Kosuke Okahara, Claude Nori, Bernard Cantié, Carmelo Bongiorno, Joakim Eskildsen, Daido Moriyama and William Klein.

A particular highlight is the photo series Sabine, featuring early works by Danish Magnum photographer Jacob Aue Sobol.
