Unseen

01/10/2017, The Peter Fetterman Gallery of Santa Monica/USA, is pleased to present rare humanist and documentary photography reflecting the theme of Silhouettes and Shadows, up until 25 February, 2017.

This show is the first installment of a reoccurring exhibition platform titled Unseen, which aims to show new artists, rare bodies of work, and singular gems from the gallery’s leading collection of fine art photography within the context of various curatorial approaches.

This first edition is comprised of humanist and documentary photography reflecting the theme of Silhouettes and Shadows, both literally and in metaphor, from six photographers who have not previously been exhibited at the Gallery: René Groebli (Swiss, b. 1927), Sabine Weiss (Swiss, b. 1924), Charles Harbutt (American, 1935–2015), Louis Stettner (American, 1922–2016), Wolfgang Suschitzky (Austrian, 1912–2016), and Giacomo Brunelli (Italian, b. 1977). Over ninety black and white prints on view guide visitors through an exploration of visual mystery and dark, noir charm from the 1930’s to contemporary.
