08/14/2017, In the course of a three-year refurbishment led by Swiss architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron, the Musée Unterlinden in the heart of Colmar has been expanded to around 8000 square metres, so that its generously designed building complexes now offer double the exhibition space.

The venue has re-opened its doors with an exhibition of works by Alexander Rodchenko (1891–1956), who not only represents a central figure of the Russian avant-garde, but was also a leading light of the constructivist movement in Moscow, and a trailblazer of 20th century design, graphic art and photography.

Approximately 100 exhibits, selected from the collection of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, offer a comprehensive insight into Rodchenko’s work and innovative discoveries in the fields of painting, sculpture, drawing, design, advertising and photography. It is the largest exhibition the Puschkin Museum has organised to date, and the most significant showcase of the artist’s work within France.
