01/08/2015, In our post-modern times when ironic approaches are a prevailing artistic trend, the winning works of Paula Markert, Till Müllenmeister, Marcel Noack and Christine Steiner
stand out by addressing 'real life' themes. Each of the four photographers aims to convey reality with all its uncertainty and scope for interpretation – though each pursues their goal with very different subjects and forms of presentations.

The Documentary Grants are given out every two years by the Wüstenrot Foundation in collaboration with the Photographic Collection of the Folkwang Museum in Essen. Each winner stands to receive 10,000 euros in support of a new project.
