The Wall Street Journal

Info

Thousands of people lost their lives and over a million were suddenly homeless when typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines in early November 2012. Following the catastrophe, the survivors had to pitch in to help clear the rubble and get the Philippines back on its feet. Within the framework of a government initiative supported by the UN's development programme, up to 200,000 inhabitants are receiving around $6 a day to clear up the debris. Guillem Valle was in Tacloban, a regional capital, on assignment for the Wall Street Journal.
