British Journal of Photography
Info
The British Academy Film and Television Awards, BAFTA, are Great Britain’s most significant film awards. Every year a small team of photographers is assigned to capture personal impressions, behind the scenes and on stage. “I was asked to cover the awards in any style I wanted – basically a dream commission, and rare as hen’s teeth,” Sarah M. Lee explains. Taking pictures of the stars at the Royal Opera House was not difficult. “Looking for suitable subjects was a bit like like shooting fish in a barrel. There were so many celebrities wandering about, and behind the scenes they felt unobserved and were relaxed.”
