04/10/2018, At this moment, the most recent building site at Leitz Park, Leica’s headquarter complex on the outskirts of Wetzlar, is still bustling with activity – in mid-June, however, the third section of the World of Leica is set to open its doors.
For the past two years, photographer Holger Daberkow documented the construction process with his Leica camera. Now his timeless images will be showcased at the Gallery of the Wetzlar Art Association from 29 April to 3 June 2018.
The photographs, which are exhibited under the title Leitz-Park 3, trace the evolution of a major site development project from very rarely-seen perspectives. Small, easily overlooked details are emphasised in Daberkow’s works, revealing new ways of looking at familiar objects and structures.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, 29 April, with a reception starting at 11, and can subsequently be viewed on Fridays (16.00–18:00), Saturdays (11– 14:30) and Sundays (13:00–16:00).
